Victory Packaging Cash Application Clerk in Houston, Texas

Description

The Cash Application Clerk is responsible for the timely and accurate identification and application of cash receipts to a customer. This will involve investigation and analysis with internal customers while providing excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in accounting or 2 years’ experience in related function required.

  • Excellent customer service, problem solving and organizational skills required.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills required.

  • Intermediate level proficiency in MS Excel and Word.

Essential Functions/Job Duties

  • Process Lockbox Receipts – accurate and timely identification and application of all lockbox receipts to a customer

  • Process Non Lockbox Receipts – accurate and timely identification and application of all non-lockbox receipts (Wachovia scans, Bank of America ACH/Wire transfers)

  • Process Manual AR Adjustments – accurate and timely entry of manual AR adjustments as requested by branches (including return check notifications)

  • Clearing of Unapplied Cash – researching unapplied cash and working with respective Regional A/R Manager and Branch Office Manager to clear unapplied cash

  • Process and apply customer payments timely and accurately

  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies and disputes

  • Process credits owed due to returned product or other discounts

  • Assist in month end closing

  • Communicate customer over payments to regional managers and branches.

  • Other duties as assigned
