Description

The Fleet Safety Auditor will serve as an auditor and team member for the Safety Department by enhancing the safety success of Victory Packaging. The Fleet Safety Auditor will implement branch safety programs, ensure the flow of information to and from internal and external customers, and maintain positive relations within Victory Packaging, customers, vendors, and the general public.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Manage the EOBR (Electronic On-Board Recording) system for trucks, including compliance with federal regulations in regards to driver hours of service, inspection reports, trip verifications, driver violations, IFTA reporting, add/inactivate drivers and trucks, site management

  • Investigate and audit safety issues as they arise at the branch level

  • Research, collect, and analyze information/statistics regarding freight

  • Research, collect, and analyze information/statistics regarding company assets

  • Research and approve invoice disputes with LTL freight

  • Research and resolve LTL freight issues with freight vendor

  • Manage the Driver Qualification Program, including the new driver hiring process, auditing files, updating files, etc.

  • Manage the DOT Compliance Program, including hours of service, CSA scores, roadside inspections, pre- and post-trip inspections, vehicle inspection reports, accident registers, employment verifications, etc.

  • Manage the Drug and Alcohol Program

  • Support the management of company physical assets

  • Create and implement company safety initiatives

  • Train employees in safety, DOT, and related safety department programs as needed

  • Safeguard confidential and proprietary information and materials for Victory Packaging and their employeesAdditional Functions/Job Duties:

  • Work with various departmental personnel to complete tasks, such as Accounts Payable, Risk Management, Human Resources, etc

  • Implement company policies and procedures

  • Complete special projects and other assigned tasks

Requirements

  • Some formal training or higher education, a plus

  • Understanding of DOT rules and regulations

  • Demonstrate time management

  • Demonstrate writing, editing, and typing skills

  • Possess a high degree of proficiency with MS office products including Word, Excel and Power Point

  • Customer focused

  • Drive change in processes within the organization

  • Maintain confidentiality of critical information

  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
