Victory Packaging Regional Logistics Manager - East (remote NJ, MD, NC, GA) in Lithia Springs, Georgia

The opportunity:

As the subject matter expert regarding logistics, provide effective solutions and align strategies to drive improved cost and service performance for transportation and warehousing across multiple distribution centers within your region. Work with multiple shared services departments including Safety, Procurement, Risk Management, Systems and location leadership to ensure logistics strategies are aligned and executed. Establish and utilize analytical, data based decision making to identify and drive improved transportation and warehousing performance. Use KPIs to monitor and report progress within your region on monthly basis.

How you will impact Victory Packaging :

  • Work to optimize the performance and spend of all outbound or inbound paid freight not handled by the Fleet.

  • Facilitate meetings with business units/facilities leadership to identify logistics cost or service improvements and align to execute.

  • Partner with Fleet Operations and the warehouse operations team to improve Fleet outbound cube utilization.

  • Collaborate with other Logistics Managers to help standardize best practices in logistics across all facilities.

  • Manage select priority logistics projects for the division as needed.

  • Identify and drive actual vs. budget variance closing initiatives, cost savings and service improvement opportunities at each facility.

  • Facilitate resolution of transportation or distribution issues at each facility as required to ensure service meets the locations needs.

  • Monitor progress of area’s key performance indicators (KPIs) actual vs. target on a monthly basis.

  • Facilitate and/or conduct routine meetings with the core carriers in region both inbound and outbound to ensure service and cost meet company goals.

  • Submit monthly progress reports detailing facilities visited, items discussed and progress toward cost or service projects or goals.

Experience/Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Transportation or Logistics

  • 7+ years of broad transportation freight management experience or equivalent

Other Requirements

· Role requires 50% travel to facilities in region

· Person must be able to function independently and proactively.

· Role can be located at a facility or remote.
